H2 Zoom Keeps On Selling and Here's Why
The H2 Zoom... is it the most amazing digital recorder ou there? No, but it's being compared to pro models going for 3 times the price. It's quite small (2.5 x 4.3 x 1.3 inches) but this Zoom Recorder is equipted with double the microphones as it's competitors.
The Price
When it first came out it sold for a few hundred bucks but today you can get it for well under $200.
The best things about it are:
- Dollar for dollar it really beats all other comparibles.
- The four mic capsules are a feature only on this model.
- Nice on your wallet and also small in your hand!
Couple not-so-good features:
- Screen is a little small.
- It's audio limiter reacts on the slow side.
One of the most useful features for me with this Zoom Recorder is that it records both MP3 and WAV formats… and in several different resolutions. So, for those important events you can select the pro audio setting of 24-bit/96kHz. For a rehearsal you can use an mp3 setting so it's nice to have the option and save some memory if you want to.
The Zoom Recorder will be of interest to:

The H2 Zoom's front screen grill is very cool looking, reminding me of an old classic studio condenser microphone from the 40's or 50's. Most people will be satisfied with all of it's popular features and there may be a few that some people won't even care for... unless you're a musician like me, in which case you'll also enjoy the handy guitar tuner and metronome that are built-in.
You can download audio from it as well. On a small device such as this it can be difficult to do some of the editing... but you can just plug it into your computer via the USB and edit away.
It's distinctive microphone patterns are called W-XY, these four mics allow for front and rear cardioid patterns and a 360 degree polar pattern.
This is a fresh and unique feature of the H2 Zoom… quadruple mic capsule, which actually gives you various types of surround recording, including a format that stores 360° information onto 4 tracks which you can extract later into 5.1 surround sound.
A great example of how you could use the Zoom Recorder to record a 3 piece band rehearsal would be to simply put the recorder in the middle facing the drums and behind it to either side would be the guitar amp and the bass amp, giving you a surround sound recording.

How do you zoom in and move pictures in Sony Vegas Pro 8.0?
I want to zoom in on the part of a picture and move left or right.
