Take Right Wedges In Your Golf Bag

The secret is the wedges. If you're so careful that you would find he may take the wedges to their individual game. More and more golfers are benefit by these golf clubs which have come a really long way in the last many years. But how do these smart golfers find those wedges?

 

 

You may be the one who still carry only one titleist vokey tour chrome wedge in your golf bag. You have to add the benefits of a better wedge game to your arsenal to succeed and lower your scores. You just need more about wedges, and the best thing is that it's simple to do. There are four basic wedges that are available to the game of golf today. These wedges are:

 

 

The Pitching Wedge – This is the most common wedge that probably every player has. So take this wedge in your set. It is usually the club that is hit form about 100 to 125 yards form the pin. The loft on these clubs are somewhere between 46 and 50 degrees depending on the manufacturer. This will be the longest wedge in terms of distance in your bag.

 

 

The Gap Wedge – This wedge is typically the club that is left out of the so called "mix" because of its late introduction to the wedge game. This club is used to fill the gap between the pitching and sand wedges and can carry lofts between 50 and 54 degrees. These golf clubs are sold individually at your local retailer.

 

 

The Sand Wedge – Don't be fooled by the name of this club into thinking it's only for use from the sand. Its loft is somewhere between 55 and 59 degrees and provides a great amount of spin or stopping power. It can be purchased on its own or sometimes come with your set. You usually hit this club form 90 yards into the pin including the sand traps.

 

 

The Lob Wedge – These clubs must be purchase separately from your local retailer. They are used for shorter high shots around the green that you would like to stop quickly. They generally have a loft of 60 to 64 degrees and are a lot of fun to hit.

 

 

Besides these common wedges, you may find another wedge, ultra lob wedge. Also you can find a lot of tips about in Google, but we just give you a general idea to help you select the best wedges. So why not try to get a cleveland 588 dsg wedge in your golf bag.

I am looking to buy a new gap wedge in golf?

I am a 19 handicap who is looking for a new gap wedge either 50º, 51º or 52º. My current wedges are 45º Pitch, 55º Sand (Callaway X20) and 60º Lob (Professional Open 658 series). I am not the best ball striker nor the straightest hitter. I am thinking about getting the Callaway X22 A wedge (51º). Any other suggestions?

Seeing that you are playing a X-20 sand wedge...stick with a Callaway X-20 or X-22 gap wedge. All these other wedges that everybody is telling you to get are conventional wedges, and will not fit into you thought process as far as completing your wedge set.

My best suggestion is that you get an X-22 gap...and replace the sand wedge with a Vokey or a Cleveland...they are both easier to get the ball out of the sand than an X-20!
