What Happened To Rallycross? Extinct?

Much has changed in the world of motor sport, which is obsenely dominated by Formula 1 (yawn!) where the same 2-3 people, some years 1 person!! Right?, ... well the rest don't have a chance ...

Can you please tell me if rally cross still exists (in a shape like it did in the days of Martin Schance & Matrtin Gollop?) What about formula 2? What killed it off? ... How about the many non-international F3s? F3000? the three competing tours/seasons of Touring cars? Sport prototype cars what do they do in the 51 weeks between Le Mans 24 hours races? What about races in the hilly motorway roads like in the movies, do they exist? And why do they reckon that new countries one is countries teams if each "team" only has one driver?

Rally Cross is very much alive and kicking and so are some of the old Group B cars!!! Formula 2 was killed off by F3000, which in turn was killed off by GP2.

The teams that compete take part in the Lemans 24hrs also take part in either the FIA GT world Championships (for GT1, 2 and 3 class cars) or the American Lemans Series (ALMS), which feature teams like Audi (R10), Corvette (C6), or the European Lemans Series (LMS) which features teams like Pescarolo and Peugeot.

Races like the Miliga Millie are now banned because they are too dangerous.
