Design and Technology
Leaning heavily on the traditional lines Titleist has maintained in their irons since, oh, they started making irons in the 1950s, the 695MBs take a small step forward. That step forward is called the "Z-Muscle," a design element that removes weight from the heel of the club to shift the center of gravity closer to the center of the iron's face. Forged irons have long had a sweet spot dangerously close to the the hosel, so moving the center of gravity toe-ward is a welcome change.

 

These irons feature constant blade lengths, minimal progressive offset and a thin topline for superior shotmaking. The MB forged irons feature a uniform muscle shape that provides more mass behind the impact area to achieve the quintessential soft, solid feel. This weighting also produces consistent launch angle, backspin and ball speed in order to provide precise distance and shot control demanded by better players. The classic design and traditional feel and responsiveness of the new Titleist MB forged irons will please even the most adamant traditional iron enthusiasts.

 

Feel and Performance
Titleist calls the Forged 695MB a "contemporary, muscle back blade iron for the highly skilled player seeking maximum shot shaping control and maneuverability." And that they are.

 

At address, players will notice a traditionally thin topline that manages to hide the muscle behind the sweet spot. They'll notice a high toe, the consistent blade length, and a relatively flat leading edge that makes proper alignment a snap. nike split cavity back v.r. vs titleist ap2 irons. which is better?

im looking to get new irons. i want some forged irons. i want some forgiveness and playability. any suggestions??

Titleist makes easier, more forgiving clubs to hit. I have owned and hit both. The titleist are much smother and cleaner wen you hit the ball. I just started playing the AP2s and i love them, they are my favorite club i have owned yet! I would def go with the AP2 irons.
