If you're picking out any new clubs for golf for personal enjoyment, one great factor would be choosing the correct shaft. A shaft of one golf club is the metallic part which connects the head to the handle, and effectively connects the full golf club together as a part. It plays a big role while swinging the club. These steel shafts are heavy and are more durable, and are usually cheaper than the graphite. However, graphite would be perfect for those people who prefer light clubs and high torque ratings. The requirements of a golfer may range from many different variables, still many feel that the needs come within the uses of steel shafts itself.
Lots of golfers think that they're fine with sticking to a golf club shaft from which they have learnt golf. However, if you're a dynamic golfer who feels that you may improve your game just by buying one shaft which suits you more, then you would find that it may increase the enjoyment of yours by golfing by quite a small bit. Anybody play with golf clubs that have Apex 5 shafts in? If so are they 'really' extra stiff like the X100 is?
What I would like to know, Is how much is the Ben Hogan Apex 5 shaft stiffer than the standard stiff shaft, and how does it compare to the True Temper Dynamic Gold X100? is it stiffer, flexier or about the same?
i played with apex 4 in my woods some time ago but i wouldnt say they were d gold stiff so overall i think they would be a fraction softer.great shaft though by the way.hope that helps
