Why are drivers of the same grams different flexes?

So I got fit for my driver and the guy told me an Aldila NV 65 shaft was my shaft. I purchased the Stiff version and it has a high kickpoint which I think is wrong. I think I need a medium to low kickpoint. There is another NV 65 shaft with a mid kickpoint but says its regular shaft... Im confused?

Most (but not all) shafts come in different weights with all flexes available. It's possible that a 75g "R" would be better than a 65g "S", for example. It's mostly based off your swing speed, but there are other factors (type of swing, quality of swing, strength level, etc.) that the fitter would be looking at to make his final shaft determination.

Kickpoint (which is becoming archaic- more people use bend profile) is a definition of where it flexes. High kickpoints generally have a more boring trajectory, while low kickpoints lead to a higher ball flight. So, if you hit the ball too high, you'll want a high kickpoint to lower the trajectory and vice-verse.

If you're having doubts, try it out on the course. If you still think you're underperforming, maybe get a second opinion.
