Step By Step Golf Drill – A Simple Guide
This drill does not call for a chair or couch, but you do need a fifteen to twenty foot long hitting spot. If you do not have fairway height grass from which to hit at home, my suggestion is to go to a practice tee. You also need a seven-iron, three tees and one to two dozen balls.
Place the three tees in the ground in a line, with just about six inches between each tee, but do not put balls on the tees. The tees should stick no more than half an inch out of the ground. Now, gripping the seven-iron, set up to the first tee as if there were a ball on it. Take the club back to parallel position just as you did in the first drill, and make sure that the forearms rotate, your wrists tilting, and the back of your left hand and clubface pointing away from your body.
For the down stroke and follow through, I am not talking about a hard swing, but a swing with enough impetus to brush or pop the tee out of the ground. Allow the weight of the club head to work its way down and brush the tee. Again, the idea is to makesure that your wrists, hands, and forearms are in the right positions and are functioning properly.
When the club starts down and forward, you want your forearms to rotate and the wrists to unhinge naturally. If you are a right handed player, it is important that you do not force the club down with the right hand. Similarly, left handed golfers must not force the club down with the left hand. Take note that this needs to be a calm motion. All you want to perform is brush the tee, not produce club speed.
Repeat this drill, brushing the second and third tees out of the ground similar to what you did in the first. If necessary, place the tees back in the ground and keep brushing them until you feel comfy. As you do this, remember that the wrists, hands, and forearms must work as one unit. Going from the takeaway to parallel position should be one smooth motion. The down stroke, brushing of the tee, and follow-through also should be one smooth motion. The more you do the drill, the more ordinary it will feel.
Finally, the takeaway, down stroke, brushing of the tee, and follow through would be one continuous action.

Well, my dad just bought me clubs, shoes, tubes, balls, pretty much everything i need except money for practicing. I've never played golf and my parents (mom and step dad) are just now saying it's really expensive to play and blah blah blah. Do you think it is? And how much does being on a highschool team cost.
Once you get out of high school, unless you get to play in college, golf becomes a pretty expensive endeavour. Its mostly balls and green fees that get you. In school, we were given a sleeve of balls before each tournament, and green fees, shirts, and a bag was provided. We also got to play for free year round if we were on the team.
If you work at a course a a shop assistant or range picker, you can get free golf too.
Once you get done with school, expect to pay nearly 50 bucks between balls, gree, and cart fees each time you go out.
