I am assuming that you are checking for the stress in your model. The more mesh you have in a particular area will give you more accurate results.

in a nutshell, it is a compromise between processing speed and accuracy. I recommend that you do a general large mesh first and pinpoint where your high stress occurs. Then increase the mesh in the area where you need it. And save your work before starting, your computer may hang if you have too much elements and you have to restart. At least that is what happened to me.
