What to Expect from the US Open Tournament Over the Next 10 Years
The US Open Tournament is one of the largest golf events of the year and you should know what you might be able to expect from this tournament over the next ten years. This includes who might win, where it is going to play, how you can go about getting tickets, and some of the changes you may see. Since this is the biggest tournament in the United States these are all important parts of the US Open Tournament.
Some of the Talked About Changes to the US Open Tournament
There has been heavy discussion about the way this tournament has been put together and how you can get into it. Currently if you have won the US Open Tournament in the past 10 years are automatically exempt to play in the tournament. Also, the winners of the Masters, British Open, and PGA Championship over the past 5 years are exempt.
You can also qualify if you finished in the top 30 on the PGA money list for the past year or the top 15 on the European PGA tour money list. The top 50 in the world rankings 2 weeks prior to the tournament also get in and any player moves into these ranking before the actual tournament are also exempt. Also, the top 15 from the prior year's US Open Tournament get in automatically.
Another way to qualify is to go through the 18 hole local qualification event and go through the 36 hole sectional qualifying. In 2012 they will eliminate the top money list winners from the PGA and the European PGA tour and they will allow the top 60 in the world to get in automatically instead.

These are just predictions and anything can happen. That is what makes the US Open Tournament so special and this is how John Daly won it. He was a nobody and came out of nowhere to win. Rocco Mediate may not have won it, but when he lost in a playoff to Tiger Woods he made a name for himself and nobody really knew him beforehand.
Getting tickets is something else you have to do and you have to know how to go about getting tickets. If you don't get them early you will have to go through a broker, eBay, or many different types of ways to get tickets. Just make sure you get them early because the US Open Tournament sells out every year.
