Is it easy to learn golf?
I am going to be a rising ninth grader and I was wondering if its hard to learn the ropes of golf, I have never played golf before but I have a background of playing volleyball, would that somehow help me with golf? What would be my chances into making into a high school team? I am also a fast learner and dont complain.
I am not going to sugarcoat this. Golf is a very complicated and detail oriented sport. Even if you may be good at one sport and very athletic golf is a game of details and great balance. If I were you I would begin taking lessons asap and if you don't have a set; buy a set of used golf clubs. I work at a golf course and I am here to tell you... "You cannot BUY your golf game" Many people come out there with a set of $1000 clubs and still shoot 105-120. After you take lessons you may want to try out and if you do not make it you at least know where you stand next year. All I can say is to keep practicing and stick with it. I played golf from 7th to 11th grades, and put the clubs down and picked them up in October(6 years not playing). Stick with it golf is a game that you will develop a love/hate relationship with.
