cpu temperture temperture help.?

I have the sabertooth p67 MB and intel 2600k cpu.

My bios reports the cpu is 70c on idle! FREAKEN HOT.

But coretemp reports each core only at 40c. why would the core be so much cooler than the cpu?

Please help

4 core temp measurements trump one cpu sensor. I.e. your cpu temperature sensor isn't working.

CPUs are heated up from the inside by the cores. The outside temperature will always be lower (cooler) than the core temperatures at a constant load. Deactivate the BIOS sensor/alarm or just simply ignore it as bogus.
