The Taylor Made R9 SuperDeep Driver made its debut at the 2010 Masters, and has been a staple of the company's touring professionals ever since. Should i ask my instructor if i need a stiffer driver flex?

I havea regular flex and im hitting it 250-280 with a taylormade 09 burner, should i ask him if i need a stiffer flex and messure my swing speed also?

You're already longer than the average male (235 yards) by 15+ yards, so really, what would you be accomplishing? Not to mention the fact that you're "only" 14- you're still growing and getting stronger.

If you're dead-set on it, go ahead and ask the pro to fit you. There are some things to consider, though:

1. no shaft is the same. One company's "R" might be another's "S". They're not even consistent from model to model, for that matter. So, depending on what brand of shaft you're playing, you may already be playing an "S"-like shaft.

2. It isn't just flex you should consider if you want to switch. Weight (one of the main parameters for determining flex) and torque should also be considered. It's possible to go up a flex, but kill your distance because the weight of the shaft is too heavy for you. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you- going to a pro should negate this, though it's still something to think about.
