What is it like to drive a car (3000GT) without power steering?
I plan on buying a nice 3000GT. The power steering was removed to put a custom steering rack in. How would this handle? Would it make it unsafe or give you a better feel of the road? And would I have to crank the hell out of it to get the car to go where I want?
I can have it added for free, by the way. I would like to leave it out if it improves handling though. He also said he could add it for free at a later date, if I decide I don't like it.
I drove an 300ZX z31 the other day and although for years and years id rove vans and cars with no power steering i had forgot how heavy it was to steer and at my first corner i turned thinking it was going to give me a good lock at sped but i nearly crashed in to a parked car due to under steering.
But yes you will be fine,we used to drive like that all the time and some big heavy vehicles.
