how do you whiten stained golf balls?

Me and some friends find golf balls at our local golf course. we clean them, toss out the scuffed ones, and sell the rest. One problem is of course people dont buy the ones that have been like in dirt for a long time and have yellow or brown stains on them. There are also the ones that have been in a water hazard for a while and are completely stained yellow, not just on one side. We've tried bleach and it didnt work. Are there any other ways that we can use to clean golf balls?

oxiclean or CLR both are expensive but you can use them over and over

btw if you use paint as the other answer suggested you'll ruin the balls
